Our website with Fatcow hosting is having a downtime few hours back, it was an internal server error 500. Cause by server internal problem, configuration or PHP problem or setting problem, and require system administrator to check on it to get it fixed. Most likely the PHP is not up running etc.

I’m very disappointed with them, I got internal server errors in all my sites hosted with them, but just because I was getting them they said they further can’t look into it and it’s a coding issue in .htaccess file, and my point with them is that it was working fine few hours back and I didn’t do anything.

It appears the whenever I archive the whole contents of my site for backup purposes, the site keeps hitting Internal Server Error 500. I think this is an issue in the way they change file permissions when the archiving occurs. They are always back up within 15 minutes though but, for a site with a considerable amount of traffic like my own, it is still unacceptable.

most shared web hosting doesn’t allow user to carry out backup archiving with the server, because this file IO will cause heavy load on the server. For critical website, we would recommend user subscribing the the latest fatcow backup service, its automated system and you can set it running and leave it, backup serviced will be taken care of.
